because it suits Mrs/Ms Moderator to flex her muscles.......ie because she CAN!!!!....................and because she thinks that by doing so we will all forgive and forget the injustice we have all experienced recently. She gives no response that means anything, ignores posts in a new thread (where it can already be seen that only things the moderator herself thinks are relevant will be given site-space), and allows problem members to remain on the forum while eliminating others who were simply trying to protect this Forum and indeed NRAS's reputation itself.

What HAS become of our lovely kind supportive Forum? and heaven help any newbies who need the experience so many of us had to offer

Some members of our kind and supportive forum are still here Lylie my darling including your self. We will not allow it to deteriorate any further for our own good and the sakes of new frightened members. Our sense of decency has been enraged but we will endure as two ex members of our forum would wish us to.

Hi Eleanor, thanks for that................but I don't feel very kind or supportive at the moment when two of our number have felt SO traumatised that they have been effectively dismissed. I was so grateful for all the love and fellowship we used to find when I was newly diagnosed and frightened, and feel very afraid for newbies who will not have the EXPERIENCED and balanced help they need when they are most vulnerable. And another thread was locked so that MOD1 could have the last word and we weren't able to respond!

Well, I am still trying.

I would hate anyone new to the site, new to RA to now join and not have support.

I miss the others terribly.

My Opinion is that NRAS were wrong on this call and although we dont know all sides of things, NRAS are party to information that we are not, but neither do they know everything about this community and perhaps it would have been nice to be more involved in some discussion earlier on.

Nras does fantastic work, it really raises awareness for people like me in a way that no other charity does and for that I can only say thanks.

I do agree that the community feel has been lost. This is very sad and now I am heading for the FB group for this.

Hi Jenni. I agree with much of what you say but I think that it is important to keep this site running so that we are here to support each other as well as the new members.

I think I'm a bit slow on the uptake and can't quite understand what's going on: locked and disappearing threads, trusted members being banned whatever next? Whilst still getting my head round this, I personally think we should continue to support all members on this site, especially new members. In saying that, I must admit to not posting on the new or newly diagnosed thread lately as I have been, and continue to be, in not a very good head space, and don't want to give a bad impression with my negativity: treatment so far has not worked for me and over the past few months my immune system has taken quite a bashing. As for the new Facebook group, I'm still trying to work that one out! Missing "lost" members terribly,

love to you all,

Barbara

Chrissie love, I don't think it was you, the moderator effectively closed the post so we couldn't read it anymore and would stop complaining about what happened to Jean and Mary.

Oh dear Barbara its a long sad story.......but I'm sure the forum will continue to offer comfort to newbies. Like you, I don't post very often either, as I haven't much to say that is useful ................lets hope we both get some thing NICE happen and we begin to feel more positive together!! Take care, LOVE Lxx

The actions of Moderator 1 have effectively destroyed this community. This is so, so sad for people who are completely alone with their RA and have nobody to talk to about their condition and how they are feeling - LIKE ME! I am so disappointed. I will continue to support NRAS because of the other work they do but miss the input to this forum forum from the missing members. NRAS offering contact with other sufferers by phone is not always the right thing for some people. You only get one persons opinion and can't have an active discussion like we previously had on this forum. This thread will probably be locked now - sad to say.

Like you Julie, there's only me to deal with my RA too, so we do need to keep this forum active and supportive, which will only happen if we are allowed to maintain its former friendly status. I do agree that Moderator 1 has altered the status quo, lets hope we can change it back again somehow, with LOVE Lxx

Well who knows---maybe the one who started all this will have a pang of conscience, do the right thing, whatever that takes and then people will come flooding back.

I've been told that on the site where it all started, someone has actually said that they are glad they found that site first because from what the gulity party had written IT WOULD HAVE FRIGHTENED THEM TO COME ON HERE! How damaging is that!!! Now maybe NRAS can see what a wrong this person has done to them.

much love,
